Dr. Zhang is licensed by Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Board of Registration in Medicine. He is
certified at both Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Oriential Medicine
(the highest certification which covers Acupuncture, Chinese
Herbology, Oriential Medicine and Asian Bodywork Therapy) by NCCAOM
(National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriential Medicine).
He has over 20 years of experience including over 10 years as a
physician practicing both Chinese & Western medicine in China and 8 years
of teaching, practicing and researching acupuncture and Chinese medicine in
USA. He has been working in Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical
School since 1999. He has been working on several NIH clinical trials to
test the effect of acupuncture on several diseases at MGH. He is also a
key Investigator of a project to study the effect of Chinese herbal
medicine in MGH. He is a faculty member of Medical Acupuncture for
Physicians at Harvard Medical School and a research acupuncturist/fellow
in Massachusetts General Hospital. He has been trained in both Chinese and
Western Medicine in top medical schools & hospitals for 11 years and has
rich experience in treating a wide variety of health conditions including
infertility and IVF/IUI with acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
He is a Professor of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (the
most prestigious Chinese medicine university in China which has two 600-bed
hospitals and over 1000 MDs. Web:

He has published more than 40 scientific papers about acupuncture and
Chinese medicine treatment as well as modern medicine in top journals such
as PNAS, J Hypertension,JBC, Chinese J of Integrative Medicine, J of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc. He is co-author of three books about
Chinese
medicine. He is an associate Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of
Difficult and Complicated Cases and an editor of American Journal of
Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dr. Zhang has been giving seminars and lectures about acupuncture
and Chinese medicine for medical doctors and healthcare practitioners at
numerous famous institutions and organizations, including Harvard Medical
School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Beth
Israel Deaconess Medical Center of Harvard Medical School, New England
Medical Center, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Beijing University of
Chinese Medicine, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, American
Association of Oriental Medicine, World Federation of Chinese Medicine
Societies and so on.
He is president of Massachusetts Society of Chinese
Medicine (MSCM), which is the key Chinese medicine society in Massachusetts
