Dr. K. Zhang was trained in both China and US for Chinese and Western Medicine. He holds a PhD in Medicine from Fujian Medical University and a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) in Chinese acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), MCPHS and the pain program from Tufts University School of Medicine. He was also trained and practiced the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) for years. Dr. Zhang is a national Diploma of Oriental Medicine, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. He is a registered Senior Public Nutritionist in China. He was a research fellow in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and currently a research scientist at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Dr. Zhang has over 20 years’ TCM experience (both China and US). He treats a varieties of diseases such as pain, arthritis, fertility, high FSH, poor ovarian reserve, support to IVF/IUI, irregular or painful periods, cancer,stroke, allergies, depression, stress, anxiety, insomnia, asthma, high blood pressure, impotence, erectile dysfunction, etc. Dr. Zhang has published over 40 academic papers about Chinese and Western medicine in the international peer-reviewed journals such as “Neuroscience”, “Circulation”, “Autism” , etc.

Dr. Zhang graduated from Fujian University of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) in 1990 and China Academy of TCM in 1996. He then became a postdoc fellow at Beijing University Medical Center. In 1999, He came to Boston and was a postdoc fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School. He earned Dipl. Acupuncture by NCCAOM, and was licensed (Acupuncture) by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine in 2000. He worked about 10 years full time in MGH, Harvard Medical School. He worked on several research projects including two NIH clinical trials to test the effect of acupuncture on hypertension and cancer at MGH. He also started his private practice in 2003. He is a former research acupuncturist/fellow in Massachusetts General Hospital. He was trained in both Chinese and Western Medicine in top medical schools & hospitals and has rich experience in treating a wide variety of health conditions.

Dr. Zhang gave seminars and lectures about Acupuncture/Chinese medicine for medical practitioners at numerous famous institutions and organizations, including Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, New England Medical Center, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, American Association of Oriental Medicine, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and so on.
